iPad price cuts and Apple's online store closed for maintenance: new iPads soon?

CNN's FortuneTech site noted that it's been about six months since Apple released their new iPads (about half of their normal 1 year release schedule), but several stores have slashed Apple iPad prices up to 30% and speculates whether this could be a sign that Apple will move to a 6-month schedule and release new models soon. Well, the Apple store recently went down for maintenance. What do you think? Any connection?
