Did Da Vinci Invent Google Glass?

Want to see a great April Fool's article? Mashable's Lance Ulanoff has written a compelling story mixing "interviews" with a touch of hyperbole raising the question of whether Leonardo Da Vinci, the penultimate Renaissance man who painted the Last Supper and has notes and drawings of other major inventions years before their time, also came up with the idea of Google Glass. The included drawing and comments made by "a nuclear physicist who studied Da Vinci" add to the fun. According to the article, Da Vinci's notes include a drawing of a man wearing a device that looks just like Google's new device and the notes indicate this device would display images and texts on a "small box and what almost looked like a monocle" over top of the wearer's view of the world. A Renaissance man invented augmented reality? Incredible. Or, perhaps Da Vinci is actually from the future, used a time machine to travel back to the Renaissance and unfortunately got caught in the past, transcribing notes of all the devices he only wished he had brought with him. ;-)
